Efoil Hayling Island
eFoil Hayling Island was borne from a passion of the water and watersports ranging from windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing, wingfoiling, SUPing and any other wind and wave generated sport. After endless days and weeks of waiting for the wind during summer 2021 we discovered the attraction and remarkable versatility of the LIFT FOILS eFoil.
After discussions with LIFT FOILS the inspiration became a reality. Being able to fly above the water from 0 knots to 30 knots of wind and to fly down wind and on waves, with no motor assistance, this sport is here and here to last. eFoil Hayling Island is now bringing it to you in an accessible and appealing package. Offering Demonstrations, training and try before you buy for all LIFT efoil products across the South Coast of England.

Hayling Island West Beach is arguably the best and friendliest place on the UKs south coast for all watersports. It was the birth place of windsurfing, when in 1958 12-year-old Peter Chilvers designed and built and tested the world's first sailboard, and played a huge part in the UKs early kitesurf and wingfoil scene. Now with a growing efoil scene there is always someone around to go out on the water with.
With it’s huge sandbar, that appears at mid to low tide, it offers safe flat waters ideal for efoiling. When the Atlantic swells reach the South coast, the West Winner Sandbar produces some amazing foil surfing conditions, with long unbreaking waves running the entire length of the sandbar.
Efoiling On Hayling Island
Hayling Island is located on the UKS south coast between Portsmouth and Chichester and is around an hour and a half’s drive from London.
Its south facing beach means the best flat water conditions are usually light offshore winds, usually around 10kts, with a wind direction from WNW to ENE.
Between mid to low tide the West Winner sandbar stretches out to sea over a 1km, protecting the seafront from Westerly to South Westerly winds. Caution is needed as it can get very shallow in places.
Above 10kts from with a wind direction from East round to South the water can get quite choppy.
When theres a good ground swell, high tide can bring some amazing foiling waves, that run the full length of the sand bar. Once again caution is needed as the shore break can get pretty big.
The beach has public toilets, a Café and the Inn On The Beach pub.
Between March and September No dogs are allowed on the beach to the left of the Inn, all the way down to the funfair, but are welcome on the beach to the Right of the Inn on The Beach all year round.
Parking is via the pay and display carpark, right on the sea front, with the usual launching spot being to the left of the Inn On The Beach, or the far right corner of the skate park.
Important!
Looking over to your left from the Inn on the Beach there is the swimming zone marked by yellow buoys. This area is strictly out of bounds for all electric and wind powered water sports. DO NOT ENTER THIS AREA!
